Metal Works

During my time at Miami I have had the opportunity to explore my love for jewelry and design through metal working classes. I have learned the technical processes of soldering and casting metal. It quickly became a passion of mine, blending the sketching and design process with my love of being able to work with my hands.

These rings were a series, based on natural rock and coral formation I wanted them to feel organic with an eclectic flare.

Process

This series followed a similar process to my other design work: starting with sketches and reference materials to shape the direction of each piece.

Once the designs felt solid, I moved into wax and sculpted the rings, focusing on the forms and details I wanted to capture. Those wax models were then used in the casting process to bring the final pieces to life.

After casting, I spent time sanding each ring to remove imperfections, refine the edges, and smooth the surfaces before moving on to the final finishing steps.

Finished Pieces

The finished pieces were sold at the Spring Arts Festival at Miami. It gave me experience in the process from start to finish of creation to taking my pieces to market.
